Ok - KDP

Ok, Im tired of hearing about it. I've been ignoring all this talk about this pin because I just figured it won't happen to me. I said the same thing about getting caught drinking and driving before and learned my lesson there. So I've seen this thing mentioned enough that I'm worried now. I know its a pin and it comes out and breaks stuff... uh, or something Can someone just show me a picture of this thing and where it is and I think I will be able to figure out what goes wrong and prevent it. Thanks! better safe than sorry!

Thanks to Joe George's instructions, I tabbed mine last weekend. Couldn't push it in by hand, but felt it slide back in about 1/8 in as I started tightening the bolt for the tab. Glad I got that done. Thanks again, Joe.

Damn that sounds very overwhelming to me, and I'm almost 19 and have basically rebuilt the motor, and brakes on my 79 Chevy.

Tab it, the 2 I have been involved in both had the bolt that you will put the tab under almost finger tight and others have posted their bolts wernt real tight either. It takes about 3 hours to do, less if you dont screw around while doing it.

David, PM LarryB, he'll get you set up with the jig, wait is short. I've heard this complaint before. Unfortunately there is another Larry B here on TDR that doesn't always answer his mail. Note the LarryB you want doesn't have a space between the y and B.

i did a search for KDP and i have been reading for a couple of hours now most of the posts are too involved for this rookie. i am still filtering through them though.



and yes i will be up all night, i couldnt sleep anyway, got this knot in my stomach knowing my truck is out of commission.

Almost got me

Don't delay getting it fixed. I had DD install their cam last Tuesday. I asked Lawrence to fix the KDP when he did the cam. He said the pin was ready to come out. So I lucked out, but it was really stupid to wait this long and take the chance.

94 3500 with 161,000 trouble free miles. Can I say that since the KDP didn't fall out? DO IT NOW!

mine has laready came out i think. im trying to learn how to go about fixing it. i think im past the point of getting on the jig list now! lol when i made the post above i didnt even know the diff between the jig and tab. however 5 or so hours of reading the results on KDP search has given me a little better view of what happend. i still dont know where to go from here but at least i understand whats going on now. thanks
