OK now I need a clutch.

Well I was having a good time enjoying the extra low end with my diablo programmer and I was doing some testing with full throttle below 2000 rpm, when I slipped my clutch. Diablo was on extreme, Hot juice on 3 about 1800 rpm and 52 psi of boost and it was just too much. It still holds fine above 2000 rpm but I doubt whether it will continue to do so. I now need a clutch so I am debating about the Luk ceramettallic or a south bend clutch. I want a clutch that I can slip a bit more than the stocker on takeoff. I'm not looking for constant third gear boost building takeoffs but agressive 2nd gear takeoffs would be fine.

Call South Bend and talk with Peter. I just ordered a clutch and flywheel from him. He can help take some of the speculation out and provide you with some real good knowledge weather you buy from him or not

I thought about it a lot and saw that the luk cerametallic was good for most to around 450 hp or more so I think it will work for me. I should be pushing 450 hp (I hope) so I should be ok. If it holds slightly better than my stout stocker did I'll be good. I'm fairly nice to it and speed shifting was the only way the stocker wouldn't hold but a recent event involving a pretty fast audi caused some damage and the almost 90000 miles isn't helping either.

Which way did you go and are you happy? Do you tow?

I ended up with a Con FE because they were out of ceramettalics. It is still sitting on the workbench because I haven't had time. the stocker is holding good anyway. A lot of city type driving seems to have reseated it.

also call dan a valair i have one of his ceramics this thing is awsome dont let anyone tell you ceramic is not good b/c mine holds real good and its getting better as i go! call him up tell him you are a tdr member he will hook you up! people will tell you ceramic is hard on the flywheel and this is true but who cares... flywheels are cheap! also when broken in properly ceramic holds the best for a single disk.
