I just returned from my local Cummins parts house, and noticed that he gave me oil filters with a LF3552 part #, where the Geno's catalog shows it should be a LF3894.

The catalog shows this part # as a microglass for 12 valve.

My truck is a '99- 24 valve

What's the diff?

Will these work?

Is another 80 mile roadtrip in my future? Oo.

Or is this another reason why the TDR is asking for access to the Cummins parts CD?

You can use them, they will work fine and filter quite well. The 3552 was the best filter Fleetguard made before the 3894. If you are in a cold climate with 15W-40 you may want to swap them out for the 3894 as it is of a heavier construction for the higher oil pressures of the 24V engine, the gasket is also a bit tougher to prevent blow out at 24V cold oil pressures. I have used them before when it was all I could get with no problems at all, even in winter temps with 15W-40 oil. I would put one on if I needed the oil changed and swap the other three when it was convenient. Hope this helps.

Thanks LSmith,

That's what I was I was lookin' for , a little piece of mind.

I just don't want to fry the CTD and argue with the stealer.

Again, this is the best $35 I ever spent. :D :)

All you browzers out there in internet land, "It don't get no better than this. "
