That states the average gallon of propane is running $1. 07 instead of almost $2,40 here in Portland for regular gas! Now I remember (Canadians help here) that Canada had a big push to have folks convert to propane when it was dirt cheap and then it went up fast - not sure what they are paying now... .



I know we have propane injection for performance - Can we get cheaper transportation by using propane??? I mean if you put a propane setup on will it substitute some percentage of diesel (at $2. 60/gallon for $1. 07/gallon propane)?

YOU"RE PAYING $1. 07 for propane!!!! Man, that is cheap. I just got a bill yeterday for my home delivery, $1. 89/gal. in a 500gal tank. Fortunately this iwill be the last monthly fill until October.

It costs almost $18 to fill a 35 lb forklift container here. Not sure what that translates to in gallons..... it burns a heck of a lot cleaner, but I don't think that propane is as efficient gas, maybe???? Not to mention it would be a major PITA to fill up, and just as soon as the demand for propane went up, the price would go right with it.

These guys may have a long contract or a huge tank and are running on old costs that don't reflect what costs are today... ... ... .

When I was a teen I worked for a propane company. We sold propane and propane accessories :-laf . Anyway, their vehicles were all converted to propane including the mid size delivery trucks. The pickups used for maintenance and delivery of tanks all had over 300k on the odo and were still running strong. They were wimpy compared to the gasoline versions, but they were filling their tanks at cost which at the time (about 15 years ago) LPG was around 0. 80 a gallon.

Isn't propane ie LPG? Liquified petroleum gas. Don't know how they make it but if it is a product from oil you can bet the price is headed skyward.

Yes, LPG is a byproduct of fuel distillation. When oil goes up so does LPG. 5 years ago home delivery LPG was $0. 75/gal. It is more than a dollar more/gal now.
