I won't post this in the 911 forum because it is not an emergency (as of yet), but...

Has ANYONE seen or have info on PCU code 0071? Thats right... code 0071.

I saw my check engine light light up on the way home. Before I shutdown, I hooked up the Cummins QuickCheck. It only said code 1693 (companion module coded) which meant the code was in the PCU, not the ECU.

I then dug into my service manuals... no code 0071. I double checked that the key on/off/on was still showing PCU 0071... Yep. I hooked up my computer and thru the Pepper OBD2 software, was able to look at the freeze frame, etc. I still could NOT find 0071. All OBD2 showed was that the MIL light should NOT be commanded on.

So I reset all codes, and lo and behold, the MIL extinguishes. Looked on the web, and I don't think code 0071 exists, but I figured I'd ask here. All appears normal. Any ideas? This one's got me scratching my head.

No Inlet Air Temperature Sensor Faults present

Set Condition: After 5 warm cycles have occurred (coolant increases from great than

4. 4°C (40°F) to a minimum of 71°C (160°F) and the odometer mileage has increased 196. 6

This is a rationality code.

Thanks for the info... but still stumbling around here. Where did you find that code? Looked around and still couldn't find it.

This is the temp sensor for the overhead console, NOT the IAT... right?

I would not worry about it at this time. It is a rationality code, some conditions will trip a code when no real fault exist.
