I currently have the 1/2" Vulcan relocation with OEM Carter pump. Can I use the same fittings I am currently using with the Waldpro or do I need other fittings. If so, what type, sizes, etc. I think it was FASS that recommended using an inline filter before there pump to keep JUNK from the tank being pulled through and damaging their pump. Is this an issue with Waldpro and if so what filter are you using. I am planning on keeping the OEM filter, heater with my set up. I just cannot see removing something that seems to be working perfectly well.

Thanks everyone.

Go to their site Glacier Diesel Power this should provide you with all the information you need. I use the pre-screen filter displayed on one of the pages on the site, however for about $5 you can get the same thing at any local auto store. If you still are unsure call Rich (owner) at the number listed top of the page.

Nope... Richs system uses all 3/8" lines & fittings. I was in the exact same boat as you. Erics system works great & his customer service is great BUT the problem is with the OEM POS pump. Buy Richs complete 392 system or you may want to call Eric & speak to him bacause I've heard he's going to the Walbro pump as well & he may be able to incorporate your present 1/2" lines saving you some $$$...

I've had mine in for almost 1-year with no problems what so ever. ROCK HARD 16 PSI 99% of the time. The 1% is when I'm hard into the pedal & then it's only at 14-15 PSI for a second or two... ... Here's a link to Glaciers system. Whatever route you choose get a pre pump "strainer" as shown on the bottom of the page...

Just Dealt with the same problem you are having right now. I peiced out the parts, primarily the Pump, Regulator, and the return part for the tank. I was able the get the fittings to make it work right at Orchard Supply. My only real problem was dealing with the 3/8 fittings on the pressure regulator. So what I did was take the 1/2 fitting off the discharge of the DC pump and put it on the discharge of of the pressure regulatro and put the 3/8 fitting on the discharge of the walbro pump. Then ran 3/8 line between the pump and the pressure regulator. Then I bought 10' of 3/8 fuel line for the return to the tank. One thing I did do is I left my DC pump in place on the frame, capped the suction and discarge of the pump, along with the pump wire. So now if the walbro pump fails while on the road. I can just unscrew the fittings from the walbro pump screw them on the DC pump and swap the plugs under the fuel filter and back on the road. So good luck if anything I can help with let me know

Oh by the way WORKS GREAT!!! Holds pressure like a champ. Just had to tweak the the pressure regulator to get the right pressure. Now holding 17-18 no matter what load or throttle conditions!!!!

OK I am confused a little!!! If the OEM pump is 3/8" and the adapters from Walpro are 3/8" why cannot the fittings from Vulcan work on the Walpro pump? There should be a 1/2" filter available for between the tank and Walpro as well as a 1/2" pressure regulator availalbe someplace without using a lot of adapter fittings. Hey guys somebody must have done this. I do undertstand that some adaption from the pressure regulator to the 3/8" steel return fuel line will be required but hopefully not much. I always think a lot of adapters being used results sooner or later to leaks and failures.

Sure would be nice if the new LP was 1/2" after all we went to the big line get to lower restriction now adding a LP with 3/8" seems contrary to what we want to accomplish. I know, I know the Carter is 3/8 and a restriction. Just saying it would be nice. We can wish can't we?

Well when I ordered the walbro pump it did not come with any adaptors. The suction and discharge on the pump are 1/8" npt. Since I was already commited to the instalation I just went to the local hardware store (Orchard Supply) and was able to get the plumbing parts I needed. Now the Pressure regulator came with 3/8 connectors on it. That was just what I did to make it work at the time. I don't know if you can get the regulator with 1/2" connectors or not but I know you can order the connectors seperately from Vulcan.

On the Vulcan big line kit it is still 3/8 from the steel line to the lift pump. You will need to get an inline 3/8 pre filter for the Walbro.

Now you will need to get the return adaptor that goes to your fuel tank fill tube. The bypass discharge from the pressure regulator will go to that adapter.

Beleive me I too would have liked everything 1/2", and I was rather concerned about the 1/8" suction and discharge from the Walbro. The walbro flows alot more with more pressure than the stock. After installing it I am pretty happy with the performance. I have the pressure set at 18 and I cant pull down below 17 at WOT.
