So i listened to all the guys on here and went and bought the Edge juice with the attitude! and man do i love it so much power and all the gauges i need! i also went ahead and purchesed a turbo back 4 in MBRP exhust and a full k&n intake FIPK its great!~ so i figure im done moding the engine for a while that is lol. but i have a ? i dont like to run it past # 3 to often cuz im not sure what all my Factory transmission can handle so im just wonderign if any1 has a close set up to this and what things i can do to make my factory 47re transmission keep up with the power! like a spring kit or what? something not to expensive or ???? any ideas Thanks All!

stock is its limit,if that. if your not high milage a shift kit will prolong the inevitable but realistically if u want to up the power at all, a transbuild is in ur future.

you might also look into an aftermarket fuel system. It may save you a lot of trouble with failing lift pumps and worse yet... the common failing of the vp44

My buddy has a edge comp & he upgraded the torque converter, valve body..... worked great, but the transmission just seemed to shift funny on levels higher than 4x3. He installed a BD pressure loc... . can now run 5x5 with no trouble.

bombed the engine a couple of years ago, first thing to let go (never ran above level 3) was the TC, replaced it with a Goerend Brothers Triple Disk, next to let go - transmission that had the BD TorqueLock. Now in all fairness it did make it to 245K (about 30K after I started bombing it). Now I have a new TC and Goerend Brothers transmission and all is well.

Save your $$$ you're going to need it... .

A friend of mine just went through a belt problem and his turned out to be the air conditioner unit was bad(on a '00)Hope this isn't your $ problem!

The TC locks in 3rd and OD The best way to tell would be lock out OD so your in 3rd running 1500-1600 rpms and floor it. Listen and watch your tach do the same in OD with 1800 rpms so trans does not down shift. Most of the time a stock TC slips in OD pulling a load at low rpms 1500-1600rpms.

If your thinking new trans. . take a look at DTT

I know this is the wrong forum, but i was asking the question in reference to a 518, non lock-up trans in a 92. I was thinking about going the low-funds way and doing a rebuild(its my son's truck). The converter was replaced last year due to a leak. Randy
