1st I would like to introduce myself, Hi I am Mark, second when hooking up the electrical for lighting what do I tie into to get the power to the boost and egt guage lights on an 03 2500?

Welcom to the TDR. I used an orange and white stripe wire for the lights. It is under the panel for the light switch. Remove the kick panel/knee bolster to remove the switch. It just pops out. For the power, Go to the steering column. Under the ignition, find a small blue wire and test it with a test light. It is hot with the key on. Hope this helps. Here is a set on the A pillar.....

guages

I found an orange wire going into the a/c panel lighting, there is two plugs one with about 6 wires (larger diameter) and a plug with somewhere around 10 or 12 wires and only one of them being orange, spliced into that one. Also since I don't use the truck for much towing I installed the pyro post turbo to monitor turbo temp to shut down. I got sleepy and started to get careless so I called it a night, In the morning I'll re-install the downpipe elbow and look for a place to mount boost guage fitting on the engine (any suggestions would be great)!Oo.

I used the same wire as dieselpilot1969 for the gauge lighting. It's the power for the heater/AC control lights. I also tied into the big ground wire that's on one of the connectors behind that panel.

I installed atranny temp guage using Geno's single pod piller mount. I tapped the guage light into the orange/w white stripe behind the light switch as described. For guage power I tapped into the cigar lighter red wire. To access the lighter and ac wires remove the screw above the trash bag hook, then the whole face around the radio/ heater/ lighter pops out. Good luck.

Greg,

Which A-pillar mount is that? I want exactly that one.

-Did it come already color matched?

-Did you remove the factory A-pillar and mount the new one in it's place?

I went with the steering column mount. I went with two gages pyro & exhaust. same orange wire in head lite switch and piers boost bolt to tap into for boost gage.

I believe if you want to keep the grab handle you have to go with a 1-gauge mount... the 2-mounts are too large.

I reccommend the Painless wiring kit. You never know when you are going to add another electrical device. Very handy. Get rid of the Holy crap handle and put the gauges on the pillar. My 2 cents:)

Due to nerve damage in my left leg etc I DON'T want to get rid of grab handle. Really is helpful in a 3500 4x4. Any one used the BD X Monitor?
