Fuel prices are

why cant do something like this?

Look's like a serious pulling rig. He's got a tool box in the stern, looks like extra fuel in the bed. Is that a filler neck on the drivers side? A tilt hitch. And it looks like a Taylor Wing to help with the wind drag.

But look at the side mirrors... . they are clip on! :confused: Flipups would be great on this truck or even PV's.

My 4X2 is just fine for what I want it to do. I don't have to worry about all the 4-wheel stuff... front drive, too high, wandering all over the place and not to mention stepping up into it. :D

I'm just kidding ya... . sometimes I wish I had a 4X4. Could of used it a couple of times. :-{} < Me and my wife!!!

Scary!!:eek: If it had flip up mirrors I might just say it was MINE!!

I have the exact same rig with the Taylor Wing and everything. Whadya mean too bad its 4x2:-{} :p . :-laf !!

Hey! Whats wrong with 2wd drive?? I never get off the pavement, except when I got stuck:rolleyes: Duh-oh. I think 2wd rides better towing and gives more room for a 5th wheel to articulate before hitting the bed. Maybe better mileage too?

With a 4WD you just have to walk further when you get stuck. :D That's what my salesman told me, waaaay back in Jan. 98.

Two-wheelers rule!
LOL. This is true I suppose... . if you get stuck.

Okay, okay, I'm sorry I mentioned the 2WD fact. Don't kill me over it. I'm just used to needing it at least once a week, and sometimes more, especially in the winter. I know how controversial this topic is :-{} so I'll say it now, I'm sorry I ever brought it up :rolleyes:

You are right, though, with 4WD you do have to walk farther after getting stuck, but you also don't get stuck as much, and when you do, 4Lo is amazing :D Of course, when your neighbor slips off his driveway at 10PM, you get the call to get him back between the ditches.

I guess if I was dweilling in the south, or in an area where either the roads are plowed after every 1/8" of snow or everything comes to a grinding halt, I'd go 2WD, but up here, with a foot of snow schools just laugh, and I have to get there no matter what.

Again, I'm sorry, please don't kill me :{

Hey Scott, where is Hartland?? I grew up in Essex Junction and the Burlington area. I used to drive a Pinto in a foot of snow with studded tires.

No flame intended on the 2wd!! Truth is I had 4wd before and thought I could live without it. I got stuck in my own driveway under dry conditions when I tried turning around 180 deg and my front wheel slipped off in the ditch. Didn't even bottom out or anything. 4000 lbs of truck and Cummins on the front axle and it was not moving. Had to jack it up, set the front tires on planks, and cinder blocks until level and back it out, 1 hr later!!!

i wish that we could afford to make all of our duallys 4wd. i've seen my guys get stuck in gravel, and have to unload to get out, even with "anti slip" diffs in all of our trucks. the one 4wd chevy that we got cheap, was actually pretty good in slick and muddy situations, but a one ton is not the ideal vehicle for "off roading", too heavy... better at what they were designed for, heavier highway loads.
