Thank You Landshark for your quick reply. As we were talking the dealer was calling to tell me the kdp had fallen out, but only gonna have to replace the cover. WHEW did I get lucky. All you procr... procas... . put off'ers better think about this.
 
Joe: A couple of questions on the dealer repair:



Did they but a pin back in?



If the dealer put a new pin in, did they use a new type front cover that will keep the pin from falling out again?
 
It's the new type case that holds the dowel pin in, not the cover. Yours is the first time I've heard of just the cover getting damaged. My feeling is that something is very fishy here with the dealer. If they just replaced the cover and put in a new pin it will come out again unless you tab or jig it. If they put it together without the pin you are looking at further damage down the road. I would find out exactly what the dealer did. In fact if was me I would remove the cover and check myself rather than trust their word. From your other thread it sounded like they were useing your truck to learn on.
