I have maybe 15 gal of old Diesel.

It's been sitting maybe 4 years.

What do folks usually do with that?

I might try to find someone who makes biodiesel.

My thinking is not to run the stuff in anything worth something.

Was thinking to drop the tank and take a look at the sending unit and the sort.

It's been in the garage the whole time so maybe it's OK.

Thanks, been making some progress on this thing, so trying to just be prepared so I'm not super disappointed with some other major self made mess.

This has been a very long deal. So much left but one bite at a time.

They sell cheap "oil" transfer pumps on Amazon, works good for pumping out old tanks. I run extra filtration on my trucks, so technically I could put it straight in and run with it. But I like pre-filtering old fuel through at least one water separator filter so the truck tanks stay fairly clean. I use a goldenrod filter from Tractor Supply on my storage tank. I mainly use the 12 volt fill rite pumps now, but I've used the manual ones when I had to.
