Old PERKINS 354 Experts please.

Got them to work for me.

Need to right click on the link. Go to the properties "button". Cut and paste the http addy in your browser. Will work then.

Just clicking on them didn't other-wise work for me either.

The "old Shell Station" makes me very sad :{ :{ I am pretty sure I was not even a thought in my parents eyes when those prices were around.

It was only $1. 49 in Feb 2004, 10 years ago it was only about $0. 95, I remember panic at $0. 65 a gallon.

Glad to be of service. They are fun pictures. I was born in 1964 so the lowest I think I can remember was in the . 50's or so.

My grandfather told me stories when he filled up his Modle-T he'd give the guy a $1 and get change back!!!!

I worked at a shell station when in high school when the prices were . 32 I could fill up my vw bug for about $2. 50 & run around at the beach all weekend. Boy I miss those days.

I was just a little kid ridding in the folks car when I saw those gas war signs for . 19

It worried me so I asked mom if we were going to get shot if we went in that station.

Me too, in 1966 gas and #2 diesel was 19. 9 per gal and we complained. Tradesmen wage was $6. 35 per hour. Had we known how much better off we were then we would not have complained.

OK I'm really feeling old now, in the last ('70's) fuel crisis I was paying . 10 a gallon for number two in TJ, Mexico :(

When you click on the links above click "refresh" in the window it popped up in. Here's a couple more . . .

My dad owned a Drive through diary store and i remember seeing a sign on it at . 29 cents Regular LEADED!! no more of that... .

i remember on vacations dad was complaining about . 65 cents... that was about mid seventies... . Imagine the shock of the shortage and the cost almost double in short order... .

The cheapest I recall is around 50c (born in '67). There was a truck stop near our place that was 55 for gas and 45-50 for diesel for a long time. Then in the late '70s it shot up to 85c, then over a dollar around '80-'81.

I recall during one spike a station in Vantage Washington jacked their price to $2. 00, in 1981!
