I started seeing smoke coming from my truck. 04 3500 auto 245k. its coming out the breather tube under the truck. it is also chuging smoke from the oil filler with the cap off. seems pretty bad to me. I heard it could be a bad vacuum pump causing high crankcase pressure. How do i check the pump. but it likely needs an overhaul. right?

Sorry to tell you this but there is no vacuum pump on the engine to cause this.



That much blow by is usually rings gone or a melted piston. If you put your hand over the oil fill and you can feel the air pushing out, not good.

That's what I kinda figured anyway. The vacuum thing seemed like bs. Anyone know of a good cummins shop on Ft worth area?
