2 Stroke Diesel In Toyota Pick Up

Sites for buying used trucks.

Pretty cool.

I heard that after the first few hours of running, you'd typically get a few POUNDS if metal out of the oil pan of one of those.

Saying that, I'd bet that's the oldest T-34 that's still running. :-laf

some of that stuff was crude at best, saw a sale listing for a russian version of a duck and the guy commented that at the moment it ran and drove fine but if you ever needed replacment parts it looks like you could remake any part on it with a hacksaw and a ******* file :-laf

V-2's were fantastic diesel engines. Well ahead of their time - They have been in use until recent years, in modified versions. WWII-era engines were built under HORRIBLE manufacturing conditions, with terrible raw materials, by mostly unskilled people. I read recently that these had an expected life of about 30 hours - Which was not a problem, since the average T34 usually didn't last that long

Interestingly enough, one of the oldest surviving T34's (a 1941 model) is in the US, at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds. It was sent by the Russians to the US for evaluation after the US entered the war. Here is part of the evaluation: Link
