I know there's a lot of guys on here who know something about older tractors. I need to pick your brains a little!
Dad was given a 1951 Farmall WD9-yesterday we went and got it. I don't know how many years it's been out of active service-but it was driven into the shop at the end of its farming life and sat there ever since. All the tin is in place and really straight-1 little ding on 1 fender and 1 little dent on the top of the hood. It has an aftermarket cab on it-ugly thing that it is. The engine still turns over-the magneto still makes spark-shouldn't be that hard to make the old girl run again. Only thing missing off it is the starter! But I've got a few questions about the function and position of all the levers-Dad can vaguely remember a WD6 that Gramps used to have-but we're getting back close to 50 years now so the memories are getting fainter.
Can someone point me to a board similar to this one where I could find out some more info? Or is there someone on here who can help me a little? At this point in time we really don't need another project (too much stuff on the go right now)-but I can't wait to hear the old girl run again after God knows how many years of layup so I believe we'll take a shot at that ASAP and then at a later point in time strip it down, address some of the areas that need it and paint 'er up.
TIA
Jason
