A pressure box, Edge EZ, TS MP8 is in cab adjustable, Van Aeken also makes a good pressure box.

You have to make sure that the TST is connected to the engine sensor first, and the pressure box on top of the TST.

03, TST/EZ stack, hard to beat.

This is the easiest, most prominant, sure to give you high # results, of anything out there.

My opinion, even better than Smarty.

I know, now I am going to get pounded.

Ask Tommeygun, "03" '03" "03"

If you had to give up, Smarty or TST/EZ,

Be Honest!

how much pressure will it be adding? will this have the posibilty to crack a injector? Will the EZ help the tst on the bottom end like from idel to 1600 rpms?

Thanks for the advise

Yes there is a difference between the old/new versions of the EZ. The earlier version had more pins, therefore more "secret" settings were found. If you search my previous posts, you will find the extra settings, now, all of that really does not matter.

Most of the folks running this stack, are keeping the EZ @ 2, just a small pressure increase, I have run it at 3, but egts get up there in a hurry.

And to answer your other ?, yes, it really helps the low end performance.

Do not misinterpret my earlier post, I love the Smarty, it is a great product and evolving all the time. But, you asked for a stack with the TST.

Hope this helps! Jess

I tested a smarty out a few weeks ago at a dyno day in SC. . . SW#5 and my TST on 4/2 was insane. EGT's were still under control for the most part even with my stock turbo and some how mt stock clutch heald, even put down 425/798 (#5 2/1). I have not tried the EZ stack, however another way to look at it a plus for the smarty would be the ability to change wheel sizes, clear CEL's, and a few other little things here and there.

the TST/EZ stack really is the best I have found. I dont like the idea of re-programming the factory ECM, so no smarty for me...

I do however have a TST program that fuels regardless of boost signal - so my fuel down low is what you would call "excessive" :)

PS - not exactly a publicly know program...

Tomeygun, You turned me on to this stack way before it got real popular. I will forever be greatful, Thank You. Jess

I know of an older ez for sell it was maufactured in 03 would that work? What will it do my my rail pressure? Could this crack a injector?

Thanks

I am running an old TST with the VA 3. 1. I probably leave some power on the table useing the VA --vs-- EZ, but I usually don't crank the VA anyway. The VA is hands down the quickest install of any power adder, I can install or uninstall the VA in less time than it takes Smarty to reprogram the ecm. Pressure definately helps the bottom end as do injectors.

I also have a Smarty and it is rarely loaded in my truck. For my purposes the TST/VA is a better option, so far. I won't sell the Smarty because it has so much potential, but until I see a tune that lowers the smoke level and wont hang the throttle on the 3/4 shift I will stick with the TST/VA. I personally don't see a difference in mpg between the two.

Thats should work. In general the EZ raises the rail pressure... At the 50hp setting I dont think it is likely to ever crack and injector.

PS - I did back to back VA vs EZ and lost 24hp with the VA3. 1, BUT it was REALLY smooth power

the VA didnt put the power down that the EZ did but it was smoother like it was a nice round curve on the dyno sheet? Was the EZ more of a spiked looking dyno sheet???

Thanks

whoops, I misquoted - it was about a 50 hp gain with the EZ:

https://www.turbodieselregister.com...roduct-reviews-va-c3-1-nitto-295-70-17-a.html

"I thought the VA C3. 1 would be the best stack with the TST because it tapers off on the high end and I thought that would let rail build better PSI, etc (as opposed to the EZ which uses PSI all the way through the RPM band)

Well, the dyno shows differently...

VA/TST - max of 476 hp (I tried both levels)

EZ(lvl2)/TST - max of 524 hp

The graphs look the same until about 50mph, the VA graph starts to fall off, the EZ graph just keeps climbing

Anyway, not to dog on the VA, it felt AWESOME on the street, really awesome down low... But when the chips are down, the tapper'ed top end gives up HP... "

well I got a ez. How do you plug this in and what setting should I start with my biggest setting before with just the tst were 3,3 now what do you think would be a goodstarting point???

Thanks
