Forum Guidelines

Time is closing in on the race between 24v & 12v & some rules need to be established. Are the trucks going to run on #2 diesel only or are they going to be allowed to run on performance enhancing drugs? This being the year of the olympics I think we should show our support and run drug free #ad
But this is a democratic society so lets have a vote to see what you all think.

Although Nitrous, Propane, etc. are nice for having fun, I think it should be "drug free" - let's see what happens with just the mechanical and electrical mod's! #ad

HUMMMM. . me thinks one run each way. . one without drugs and one with. . timed then avg. out... remember HVAC's is 5sp impared so one with one without would even up the handicap a little. . IMHO
Just remember I get the pieces that fall out/off. . Scotty and I have said we will tow the breakdowns back to hotel/home. . I might be able to muster the power for that #ad

Sounds good to me. Gary remember that I live a thousand miles or so north, & your offer of a tow home really impressed me. What parts are you looking for, I may be able to make them fall off easier, maybe bubble wrap em so they don't get damaged #ad

lets see... figured a p pump installed and tuned [isn't that how they fall]. . 100 gal. fuel tank as above . . installed... . lifetime tunning [that one was stuck to the bubble wrap as a gift certificate]. . #ad

that is for starters... . I figured Scotty was eventually headding north again for your tow. . HVAC lives close to me . . 'bout 3+ hrs... I figured he could leave his rig here for a few days [ just long enough for a few more parts to fall off]...

Drawing on gasser experience, and adapting to the special needs of diesels, let me suggest that I bring a gallon of my favorite additive--nitrohexadecane. It gives the power of nitromethane and the cetane improvement of cetane (hexadecane). One gallon per 1/4 tank of #2 diesel is good for about 350 hp. Engine life is somewhat impaired, but you can torque the head bolts to 160 ft lb and they will hold for at least three races. Bring a couple spare head gaskets, preferable 0. 060" dead-soft copper, and some extra head bolts. They are grade 12. 9 which is good enough for three races.
Ntro compounds detonate well, but with a significant ignition delay. You should time the pump for between 40 and 45 degrees BTDC, depending on rpm range.
Chemists make the best BOMBs.
