I am at a loss for words. It is not just my imagination, the truck really came to life with just these 2 things. All new 181's (i had the 167's in my 160HP pump), as well as a set of 215 injectors that Dieseldemon shimmed for me. Thanks again for doing this for me, you did a remarkable job.

The only thing that concerns me, is that my old 167 DV's had some rust on them. The injectors did not seem to have any that I could see. I will crack them open and have a look. Should this be reason for alarm? Rust in any injection system components can't be good.

The lugnut and 3/4" close nipple worked well for the injector puller. I had to borrow a friends lugnut as mine are aftermarket, hence the reason why I had trouble before. The injector bores were all full of an oily stuff so I assume they were leaking. On a side note, if anyone is going to buy an injector install kit, or if you buy the copper washers seperate, make sure to get the 1 piece "U" washer for the return connectons, the 2 individual washers get lost real quick and makes the job very tedious.

Lastly, can anyone tell me out of 181 DV's and the 215 injectors, which gave me the huge power increase, or did both of them together contribute to it?

The 215 injectors helped a lot, but so did the #6 plate that went in first. The DV's remained stock, so I can't help you there. You really can't tell which helps increase power (or mileage, or "smoothness", etc. ) more than the other if you installed both at the same time. But leaving in the stock DV's didn't "seem" to hamper my truck's performance; I wouldn't know for sure unless I changed them out and left everything else the same. Since the 215's (about 200K mi ago), I have ground my stock plate into a "100" and replaced the #6 from TST. That really woke things up, too. Especially on the top end. I don't think that the #6 really benefitted from the GSK either, but the 100 does.
