NAH - HotRod magazine started in 1948 as I recall - just in time for my wayward high school days - and I was driving a '40 Ford Tudor at the time - wish I had it now!
As to superchargers and hi-test gas, that was the ticket with the '67 Datsun pickup I swapped a B&M blown Chevy SB 350 into - with a 3-speed O/D transmission and Ford 8 inch Mustang differential...
BUT, that's another story... :-laf:-laf
