Jstewart's 95 Truck Report 2500 4x4 12 valve

I'm getting into a snow groomer this winter. The VMC I'm looking at has a 4BTA 3. 9 L Cummins in it. Might be a stupid ?, but is this engine a good one. Need feedback on pros and cons. Thanks.

3.9 cummins

Where I work at there is a crane that has this engine in it. I think that it has a balance shaft on the bottom end, unlike the 6 cylinder. It is called a Grove , crane, and it has gave very good service. It is not intercooled though . I wish that my welder had that engine in it. LOL jim

It's basically one of our 5. 9 liter engines but a 4 cylinder model. It is a B series engine so it would be very similar. There is information on these engines on the Cummins website. There are listings of all of the engines they make now as well as the power outputs. Hope this helps.
