When I talked to a reliable diesel performance shop Indiana they said that I could retorque my stock head bolts. They said that that I could carefully retorque to 120ft/lbs. Just pay close attention to detect if bolts are stretching or actually torquing down. I started and 100, 110, to 120. and was fortunate not to stretch any bolts. I had a few new ones on hand if one felt soft.



I know some on here will probably no agree with this but it seemed to work for me. But I realize this is only a band aid until I have to spend the money for o-ringing.
 
I had a shop here tell me they could be retorqued as well however, I'd read on the board a long time ago where some folks were saying it couldn't be done.
