Hey guys!!!

Got my stage 3 kit in from HTT yesterday and am having some trouble getting the center cection machined.

I took the compressor housing and wheel off and am wondering if you guys are taking the turbine wheel and shaft out of the center section before trying to check it up in a lathe.

I took my center section to a buds house last night and his chucks for his lathe wasnt big enough to go over the turbine wheel and chuck up on the center section. If I had the shaft and turbine wheel out of the center section machining it wouldnt be a problem.

How do the shafts come out??? I checked on the Hoset site and if I am reading the manual right they just slide out of the center section after removing the compressor wheel. Are there any seals that will need to be replaced if I take the shaft out??

Now granted this is not the first turbo I have been into, but it is quite a bit different than the ol garrett turbos that we used on the turbo buicks.

Thanks in advance!!!

I wondered the same thing when I did mine. So after talking to Steve at HTT, I chucked it up on the flange that goes into the exhaust housing and indicated the face flat (within reason). A little duct tape over the oil passage keeps you clean. Also duct tape the turbine to the body and you don't have to pull the shaft. Take your time, spin it slow and you'll have no problems. Remember, your only looking for a bit of clearance for the new pin wheel. Post how you make out.
