On my 93 It fires fine but then it dies if i dont keep my foot on the go pedal .

I checked the connections /replaced the ends . Replaced the fuel filter fuel looked good and clean , no weird smells the fuel level is between 1/4 and a 1/2 . Truck ran fine on a 60 mile round trip the few days ago then here the other day on a trip to town it stumbled a littel when backeing it up pushed in the clutch went to town ran fine but on the way back it acted weird like it is now but its worse now and it runs like its sick .

Any ideas is it time to buy a lift pump ?

Note pump has been replaced with a rebuilt pump with the spring and fuel pin mod a t the beging of summer and has had a few thousand mies on it , i fixed a few electricle gremline but i undidthose to see if that was the issue , no change .

Is it possible some gas was put in the tank somehow or a bottle of gas line antifreeze? This can cause what you describe.

Nick

I did not see any thing that looked strange in the fuel or "fish eyes " which would indicate water in the fuel , before i removed the old filter i drained the fuel into a glass container and it looked normal . There is no abnormal smells that i can tell but i got sinus problems and cant smell all that well at times , but to confirm i checked a gas rig of mine and it smelled of gas , Ive had gas in my wifes vw , it does kind of act like that but it starts good just runs like crap , but its possible some may have spiked my fuel tank i got aad on craigs list to remove wood and i caught some one stealing big beams , so maybe ??????????

Update : I hooked a line into the pump its self no change , i still had the return lane running to the pump .

So is it the fuel shut off sylenoid or the injectors or a fubard pump with littel miles ?

What is the trick to pull the fuel sylenoid on the truck ?

That should have eliminated any fuel issue. Make sure there is no restriction on the fuel return, especially the tiny screen in the fitting at the fuel pump the return line attaches to.

Nick

Im going to try two more things :

1. unplug wireing and run a wire from the battery to the pump .

2. run a fuel can to were both pick and return run in the same can .

Were is this " screen " located

As the only return that i know dont go through the pump , unless its one of the ones you cant get at on the pump ?
