I have had this issue with my truck "bucking" fore and aft during mild acceleration, especially with o/d engaged. The problem is non-existent during heavy throttle application or WOT, regardless of load.
The immediate problem is now I am on a trip with my wife, daughter, and dogs, pulling my 10k fifth wheel trailer, 4-5 hours from home. The truck is doing the surge/bucking thing with o/d locked out now. Tach jumps approximately 25-50 rpm during stumbling episodes. I am not driving it like I stole it and not 'pouring the coals to it' on steep grades. EGT's have not been more than 1150-1200 degrees. Transmission is no more than 150 degrees. I have been blowing off my coller lines if I am too aggressive on throttle, so trying to be gentle.
Truck has superchips tuner, AFE Magnum force, 300hp bosch injectors, recent injection pump from Midwest Fuel Injection, built automatic transmission, and a new FASS complete pump replacement system. Driveline has been balanced recently also.
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas. Should I take immediate action, or wait until I get home? I don't want to be dead in the water with my family on vacation...
