Never seems to fail, vacation and truck problems have been synonymous for me, in fact I bought this Dodge on vacation when the old Ferd bit the bullet.
We're in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and about 1000 miles from home. Pulled up here with no problems, however I noticed the check engine light yesterday during a fairly easy part of the drive. Here's what shows up:
P1693 - companion, I'll ignore this one.
P0217 - engine overheat
P0234 - turbo overboost
The 0217 surprises me as I keep a close eye on all my guages (including EGT, trans temp, FP, boost) and the engine temp was always between 190 and the line at the upper end of the normal range.
The 0234 should not be happening either since the EZ has the boost fooler. I do have a turnbuckle and run up to about 28 psi, with normal levels sustaining around 22-24 psi.
I have the Harrison software and the cable being overnight shipped from home (oops!)
Any ideas ? My plan now is to clear the codes, grease the EZ connectors, and see if it happens again. Am I on the right track or am I overlooking something that could be a disaster waiting ? I'd love to go buy a new '06 but would rather not spend that $40K today or do it on vacation, again.
Thanks again all !
