Competition ? On Wastegates

Where do you find external wastegates with enough spring pressure for our trucks ??? I have looked at 100's of them and they are only good for 6-18psi not 60psi ??

most wastegates come with a low spring and are usually used with a boost controller. you can buy springs to set usually whatever pressure you want. or as a base boost setting and go higher with a controller.

We have just used a pressure regulator to limit the pressure holding the gate closed... The bottom of the gate is hooked to actual boost pressure... If you have a 1 bar (about 14 psi) spring... and you set the regulator for 10 psi. . once the boost pressure reaches 24 psi the gate will start opening. . (14 spring + the 10 regulated pressure... )

Just use a standard ball and spring boost controller on the bottom gate... way simple and way easy to adjust!!! I agree with Tractor Nut... a 1bar spring is perfect on the primary... but make sure you have enough gate... . 50mm is an absolute minumum on the primary.



I have a 38mm gate on the top turbo with a 1. 5 bar spring set. Primary boost pressure(cold pipe pressure) is sent to the top of the dome, and secondary boost goes to the side port. Side port pressure is regulated by a pressure regulator that I picked up at Napa. works very well at regulating boost... and is stupid simple

DF. . are you running the 50mm gate on just the primary?? or gate past both turbos??? (manifold to outlet of the Primary??) Just curious. . couldn't see the 50mm in your pics...
