Towing with Automatic question?

That would make loading the bed alot easier for short people. Put it on the ground, load it up, put the bed back on.
 
I don't understand the purpose of offloading the bed like that. Seems like a lot of effort just to make it easier to load.

It would be cool to have other bed styles to pull on. I wonder how much weight that setup can pull back on?
 
It would actually be more functional as a flatbed, they are stronger than a sheetmetal bed, therefore allowing it to carry more weight. Though, that would all depend on how much the arm could lift. I know in Iraq we actually overloaded one of the OshKosh built PLS's with a container filled with bags of flour. Had to help it up with a 10K forklift, needless to say, it unloaded easy;) A truck the size of that one though probably only has a lifting capacity of about 3-5K I would guess. whatever the rated bed weight would be my best gues though.
