Well I've had my new 05 3500 one day and the a pillar leaks water. Anyone had any problems with this and what was the fix? Doesnt look like the cab lights on top are making it leak because the headliners not wet.

I have not heard of anyone having trouble with a water leak on new truck. If the head liner is dry is it coming in around the door? If so I had a water leak on my 01 it was a simple fix and may apply here. The dealer had to readjust the door, they put the window down and then bent the top flange inwards to tighten up the gap on the weather seal. They also had to readjust the way the door was sitting on the mounting bolts, just loosen them up and then wiggle the door around and got a tight fit. But with your truck being 1 day old the dealer should have no issues with dealing with this.

I hope this is the only problem you have. Its a bumer with a new truck, good luck.

Check the cab lights closely and look for hairline cracks on them. The lights were the cause of my truck leaking off of the sun visor clip and my headliner was never wet either

There is a TSB listed for that problem. When I was shopping for my 05, the first one I looked at had water leaking from the sunvisor and the grab handle. My salesman immediately told me he would not sell me that vehicle and took it to the service area right away. He found a replacement truck for me and I have not had any problems w/water leaks.

This is the TSB for your problem. Dealer should fix it for free. Good luck!

23-003-04 All Water leak at grab handle.

Water may enter the vehicle through the secondary door seal retainer or the roof seam, onto the headliner and run down the “A” pillar, coming out at the grab handle. The repair involves sealing holes in the roof panel.
