Well I think I have killed my engine, I put the 16cm exhaust housing on tonight went out to see how much it lowered my EGT. Went out south of town to run the truck up out of the river it is a good climb, the first run I noticed exhaust temps stayed lower longer eventually they would cimb and I would have to back out of the throttle. The second run I turned my propane on and about half way up the hill, the engine started knocking and power dropped. I pulled over and stopped and vapors just pouring out of the crankcase vent and engine running exstremly rough. I do believe I have killed one piston.

Ouch, sounds $$$. For your sake i hope its just a head gasket, but it sounds serious. How hot did you get it? and for how long? i have hit 1700 before,so far its still running.

EGT did not exceed 1400 for anything over maybe 5 seconds, was runnig about 36 pounds of boost running approx 2800 RPM 5th and over 105 miles per hour. oil pressure is fine water temp came up to about 220 and dropped right back of to 190. getting allot of blue smoke out the exhaust.

Does it still run? After I replaced my head gasket I took mine for a run of around 200 miles. Had the same thing happen, lots of blue smoke, made a bad clattering sound, & loss of power. It still ran though. I then began to pull the valve covers one by one & found on #2, the top of the exhaust push rod had broke off!

Replaced both push rods & haven't had any problems since. (knock on wood)
