More Auto Trans problems

Custom 98 quad cab 4X4 12v - Ebay

My Daughter's 1993 Plymouth Colt trans is on the fritz. (120k miles)

No reverse.

Will move forward but not like normal, seems like trans is slipping.

Fluid level is good, does not smell burnt.

Trying to move shift lever a little back and forth in reverse does nothing.

Did not go out gradually, just drove to the store, and when she came out, car would not back up.

This car isn't worth another trans, or a rebuild, but would be nice if it could make it one more year with around town driving until she graduates from college.

Thanks in advance for ANY ideas. :confused: :{

Try a can of the transmission conditioner that is recommended to soften up the seals. If it is a clutch piston seal leaking by it might soften it up enough to make it work. The fluid needs to be warm for this stuff to work. I have used the stuff for front seal leak and somtimes it works for long period of time. I am not a transmission expert, just had lots of experience. bg
