thinking about making one shaft (rear) the stock one needs rebuilding anyway. my thoughts are 2 ujoints no slipyoke & no more driveline shutter just worried about length any toughts? (03 2wd quad sb 6spd)truck is plenty low no bad angles

You might want to take a trip down to your dealer,I think many of the new trucks are coming with one piece shafts now. Take a measuring tape ;)

I took a look today but not many 2wd 6pd trucks up here in the northeast could use the measurements if anyone can find them thanks.

Hi Maverick, I had forgotten my old truck had a 2-piece driveshaft. . . it's been a few years since it left Kennewick and went to Massachusetts. My '98 shortbed 2wd I have now has a 1-piece aluminum driveshaft and it's nice and smooth. The measurements wouldn't be the same though being it's a 2nd Gen.

Do you have launch shudder or does it shudder because of tired U-joints? That truck was darned smooth when it was new. Mark S. did use that truck to haul a massive 40-foot TT to Florida & back a couple times, that probably didn't help the driveshaft. Have you priced out a new center bearing & U-joints?

vaughn, the launch shutter has been there since I have owned it but only 18000# and up but very controlable just have to drive easy 1st & 2nd (roll on) yes marks camper was big I dont think that was damaging. the truck is still smooth but you can hear & feel the center brg, failing so I might as well do it all. with 122000 I think its done well after reading some of these driveline post thanks.
