When I got my Alcoa wheels on today, Discount Tire found a spacer on one side of my front wheels on my 3500. They said they have never seen FRONT spacers on a dually, let alone just on one side.

Anybody have any idea why D/C would do that? (I bought the truck new and I know I didn't do it... )

Spacer

Doesn't sound like Discount has seen many Dodges. Every one of my 3/4 tons and the 1 ton have had one. Leave it on and don't worry about it.

For awhile DC used three different sized spacers alone or in combination to try to correct front end pull/drift. They are supposed to be on just one side in the front but sometimes accidentally get stuck to a rim and moved in a tire rotation. Many folks have reported no difference in handling with them removed.

I asked them if it was for the brake pull and they said Dodge would have to replace all my front brakes and stuff to fix that. We left it on.

If they did put it on the fix the brake pull, it didn't work.

Ditto

My 99 had brake pull issues. Nothing DC did ever corrected the problem. That was another reason I got rid of it. In Utah you can not lemon law a vehicle if you purchased out of state, otherwise they would of got it back. They did the shim thing, there is a TSB on this issue. Supposedly it was corrected in 00. My 01. 5 has no issues with brake pull. Your post brought back bad memories. The new Rams brakes are awesome and with the pac and cogs it brakes like a there's no tommarrow.

Newer ones are better - that is how it goes. Powerball #s will be in soon so maybe I'll win and grab a 02 before they start looking like the new ones...
