Ugly Grille

 Why that ugly half Ferd grille? It looks like I will stay with the 1st and 2nd gen trucks for a while to come. Dana axles have been super dependable to most all of us, and it doesn't seem the cab size is really any improvement. The GVW and power improvements are nice, but at the expense of "Bombability" (anybody got any "American Gear " parts they want to sell?):( :(

Phord lookalike

When the Ford first came out some thought it looked a little like a Dodge so how can the Dodge NOT look a "little" like brand F. Of course they could add a little Chebby and have a mutt. HeHe this is fun!

Steve-

Thanks for the great article! I have two questions. Is there a regular cab short bed? That's always been the best choice for people who really need/want to go off road. Also, are there rear seat head restraints? It doesn't look like it from the picture. I've seen an accident where a pickup was rear ended. The rear seat didn't have head restraints (like ours don't). It was a real mess. Both peoples heads went through the rear glass as the truck went forward.

Thanks for the info,

Dave.

Pherd lookalike

:D kmiller wants to know how it could look different than a Ferd? If DC had followed up on the Powerwagon look that we have all seen, they would sell a million. Copying the Ferd's copy of the Dodge will get Us nowhere  We would be better off carring over the popular 2nd Gen style. JMHO

Great job Steve, outstanding pictures and write up. However, I am greatly dissapointed by the lack of the true crew. Was it a teaser that you stated no true crew "for now"?

Anyway, that being the case, as I fugured it would. I sold my 99' and replaced it with a 02' 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy Avalanche w/ the 8. 1L eng. (Ducking for cover now)

It's an awesome truck, but I miss the Cummins. But thats all I miss.

When DC makes a true crew, then I'll give the wife the Avalanche and I'll be back in the Big "C" again.

In the mean time, I'll remain a member of the TDR to keep abreast of DC's progress.

Wow, finally a 3500 SRW model! I think they look good. Lower bumper and headlights will make them more compatable with others on the road.

Good job Steve.

Dave, no there isn't a regular cab short bed, I put the cab options in the article: "Body configurations on both the 2500 and 3500 include a Quad Cab short bed (not available on the DRW 3500), Quad Cab long bed, and regular cab long bed. "

Good job Steve. Little disappointed that it doesn't have the full doors in the back but I don't set back there so it won't bother me but its bettter than the quad cab. My son will probably get one before me.

Steve Very good!

For those of us that tow a fifth the bed top height is always a Question. This is really a problem with the 4x4s. I think a number of people would be interested in a measurement when it could be done on the 2500 and 3500 short and long beds. Thanks again for all the info.

steve,

will cab lights be avaible on 2500's?

what makes a single rear wheel 3500 a 3500?

will tailgate lights be optional on any 3500's?

thanks in advance, and all the info!

I'm glad I got in under the wire and got a 2002. :D That new style will never grow on me. Niether will the white guages or the ugly new dashboard design.

Disappointed

Man I thought DC was going to make a difference between their light duty and HD line - well so much for that! Also the Shoe-horning of an engine into this small compartment - what are they thinking about! I'm glad I have my 01!
