Front doors are 6x9. Problem is most 6x9's are too deep for the doors and require shimming. Rear doors I believe are 5. 25" Not sure. I know they are on the 03-04 and it's been 5 years since I replaced speakers in my 98.

After shimming, do they still fit under the factory door panels, or do you need to cut them out and put grilles over them?? thanks for the info

Guys the stealthbox I have was an impulse ebay purchase and I'm not sure I want it. It was only used a month and looks/is like brand new. Nobody interested? I bought it at quite a discount off the standard $500 stores charge for a new stealthbox... . Oh well, I guess I could list it in the classifieds. Part of me wants to install an in dash dvd, components in the doors, the stealthbox, etc, and just go crazy with it:D , but the sensible side of me is trying to sell the box quickly before I start:-laf

Rubberneck, you only need to shim the speaker about 1/4" to 3/8". The speaker will still fit under the door panel without modification to it. You know how you can push in on the door panel right where the speaker is and it will push in a little. With the speaker shimmed out, you won't be able to do that. Make sense? I found my old rear door speakers from my 98. They are 5. 25". The front door speakers are in my street rod.

Why spend a fortune....

Build your own Stealthbox. Besides you can install much larger speakers and more of them too. Here is four 10's in a box I built. I have numerous pictures in my Reader's Rig showing different stages of the install. When I have posted these pictures in the past I have recieved numerous PM's asking for plans and instructions. This box was built completely from scratch and other then the pictures, I couldn't begin to tell you how I made it. Just thought I would throw this out for other ideas though. BTW... . the rear seat is totally stock.

What is the internal volume of your box. Obviously it is sealed, correct.

A shade under 1. 25 cubic feet per side..... each side holds 2 woofers. You need to find a woofer for smaller enclosure though this is easily done now-a-days. The woofers I chose are recomended for enclosures as small as . 35 cu ft each.

Yes it's sealed. I would need significant more volume to port the enclosure properly. With my current setup the port would have been 2" in diameter and fairly short if I remember. Two 10's breathing through one 2" port would sound like a wind storm... ... too much port noise. Besides, sealed enclosure have a much smoother roll-off then ported enclosure, hence better sound quality. Never have liked my systems BOOMy..... just loud. ;)

Darn it Dtrevathan - you're making it harder for me to get rid of my stealthbox. It's the exact one in the pic, was used for a month and I bought it. If anyone wants it , it's $375 shipped including all mounting pieces etc. I got a new hardware kit from JL to install it but haven't installed it in the truck yet. I'd like to sell it before bomb fever hits me and I'm forced to do the whole deal - component sets, dvd player, amps, etc. Sure looks pretty sweet installed. I guess if nobody takes it off my hands in the next few weeks I'll bite the bullet and install the stealthbox. :p
