Onstar or Nostar

I have a freind who has this system in his new Caddy. He was bragging on it just the other day. I told him it was a ripoff. We just about got into a battle over it. Of course it didn't help when I told him "If you can't read a map or figure out how to get someplace,where the next town is,or need help everytime you turn around. You don't belong on the highway!"He got a little red in the face and left. They should call it "Nobrain onboard". I also understand that they bill you everytime you use it... ... Your thoughts?

I usually can find my way around without needing a satelite. Most of the time when I'm lost I don't know it anyway. It's better since I don't let my son-in-law ride shotgun and help anymore.

I use a hand held GPS when I'm hiking or snowshoeing in the mountains. When I'm dirving, I just read the signs on the road. I suspect that onboard navigation systems for cars are alot more dangerous than cell phones. Talk about taking your attention away from the road...

I have a handheld GPS. I take it with me when I go into the woods. Its great to mark a spot, get the altitude, and find the same spot again next year.

Don't have a problem with GPS,I have to use one at work quite often. I'm talking about Onstar systems,the one button help is on the way,big brother is watching system. GM is the big distrubuter of this thing.

We dont need no stinking onstar..

I bought a Hammonds map. $1. 99, and I dont get lost anymore. They dont charge you when you use it either.

In the woods is a whole other story.
