I received this in an e-mail today from Tom Partridge at Cummins.
With respect to your post on the CAN website I feel I should advise you against making any changes in the manor you have described.
The Cummins ECM is smart enough to monitor data that is
on the CANbus and it remembers fuelling parameters for a period on time.
Should you have a engine/fuel system failure the Cummins dianostics tool can be used to see if any fuelling parameters to the VP44 have been within specification
- your warranty would be invalid.
Assuming you do not have the top power rating for the engine, I would ask a Dodge dealer how much it would cost to re-calibrate your engine for a higher horsepower.
This will depend on what vintage of engine you have.
Hope that helps you.
Tom.
