Well I was bit by the BOMBing bug- and while changing oil decided to kill a little time removing the breakoff screw on the AFC in anticipation of finally getting gauges- and so I could find a matching replacement screw. After removing the 4 intake bolts, which were badly corroded, I noticed a small pile of what appears to be bits of aluminum corrosion from one of the bolts and head. I know that stuff wasn't there before I pulled the intake 'elbow'. Is there an easy way to get the grid heaters out of the way so I can get a vacuum hose in there? Or, do I have to completely remove the intake cover and grid heater assembly and risk messing up a gasket? Or... dumb question... is it ok to let that junk stay in there and risk it damaging the engine?

I can't believe how corroded these bolts are- and that they're not blind holes... I know this can't be a new thing- my brother said his were rusty when he pulled his as well but didn't have anything noticeable fall into the intake manifold.

The grid heater should pull right off, least it does on my 24v. I just used a vacuum and sucked all that stuff out. Also I put antisieze on the bolts so they wouldn't do it again.
