OPD Propane valves

Anyone know where I can purchase new valves for both horizontal and vertical 20 pound propane tanks? Yes, I know the 20# vertical tanks are cheap, but I have a really nice aluminum 20# that I would like to retrofit, plus the propane stealers in this area won't sell just the valves and want $130+ for a 20# horizontal tank!

There is a place on Forrest Lane in Dallas (that may be Garland) that has them or at least did in April. I bought 4 for the 30 lb. bottles. The name of the place is Camping Capital, I have their catalogue if you need the address. bg

I called odpvalve.com and they cannot get the 20# horizontal ODP valves and they don't have the 20# vertical valves in stock (Maybe next week).

The 2001 edition of NFPA 58 modified requirements to exempt horizontal cylinders manufactured before October 1, 1998, from requiring OPDs. Also exempt are cylinders used for industrial trucks, industrial welding and cutting gases (these cylinders must be labeled with their use).

The Texas Railroad Commission is the governing agency for LP (Propane) gasses in Texas and have made it almost impossible to purchase propane fitting etc. with out a Tx LP Dealer license
