Over the Labor Day weekend I decided it was time for Operation Cushy Butt - I changed out the drivers seat foam in my 2009 truck.
Last week I ordered an engine air filter and new seat foam from Geno's Garage. I opted for their improved version of the seat foam over the OEM and also it being on sale. The job wasn't too bad but one where a good work table with some decent lighting is a must. The one thing that I decided to do was paint the seat frame while it was exposed. I can't believe the supplier for Chryslers seat frames leave them with bare metal. I don't know if other manufacturers cut corners like this but it's really crummy because the rust will end up staining the carpet or upholstery and maybe even make the seat squeaky in the future. Anyway the frame received a coat of Rustoleum heavy metal primer and gloss black paint.
My family and I used the truck yesterday to go visit with friends and go kayaking which amounted to about 100+ miles and it was such an improvement. I even had to readjust the mirrors because I sat so much higher. The last time I vacuumed the cab I noticed there was foam dust on the floor and that you could easily feel the seat frame through the old foam. The cushion was slowly disintegrating.
For anyone on the fence - this is a worthwhile upgrade.

Old seat - getting flat like my backside.
