I have a Sunnybrook 5th wheel. Sunnybrook and Montana look a lot alike. Camp with several that own the Montana and they seem to be pleased with their units. I think Montana, Sunnybrook and others in this price range could use more insulation if camping in extreme cold or hot. I know I have improved mine by adding insulation in some areas.

I have a 2001 Montana #2880. I have had it out 5 or 6 times and just love it. I have a center kitchen and large windows accross the back. We had the trailer out in about 25 degree weather and found that all the windows in the back would keep the trailer cool in that area. I understand that you can get double pane windows. It has a good heater and will cook you out if you let it. The trailer pulls like a dream and the quality is very good. I would certainly buy it again. The only problems I've had was a faulty hot water tank thermostate and a loose clamp at the water fill tube. As far as full time usage, you should take a good look at the service manual. I mentions full timing and the problem with humitity. I says that full timing may void the warrentee. I don't know why full timing would be harder one trailer than it would be on all the others. Anyone have an opinion of the Montana brand fifth wheel RV. They are manufactured by Keystone RV Co. Thinking about trading for one. But would like a second opinion of a Montana owner. Is unit well insulated for cooler/colder weather? Are they a 4 season unit?

We purchased a Montana 3670 about a month ago. We have had it out locally once. We looked around a lot and were really sold on this brand. It has the cold weather package on it with insulated and heated tanks good to ZERO. It also has thicker insulation in the walls and the roof, but I guess you better take all this with a grain of sand since the same fuzzy feeling happened when I bought a PSD... CJ

Check the construction of any camper you plan on buying. Mine has 10 inch on center floor joists and 12 inch on center wall studs and the walls are mounted on top of the floor. Some camper walls are mounted to the sides of the floor and most have 12 inch on center floors and 16 inch on center walls in my opinion not as good. If you camp in exteme weather (hot or cold) make sure the air condicioner has ducting and is insulated or you will end up with moisture problems.

I looked at Montana's, and they are nice. The same dealer also handled Newmar products and we ended up buying one of them. Newmar makes a unit called the American Star that is in the same price range as the Montana. We purchased a Kountry star which is a step up. The more you look, the more confusing it becomes. Good Luck

I also recently purchased a Newmar American Star 32RLKS. We looked at several brands and it seemed with Newmar you got more bang for the buck. Newmar offers an insulation package and heated tanks as standard on some models and optional on others. Just my . 02.

Hi, have been looking also at the Montana 2880. Great floor plan. Just down the road from the Montana dealer is a Sea Hawk dealer. Wow, same floor plan but many more great features with better insulated walls. Ask them for a comparison sheet to the Montana, it is very impressive.
