I'm curious about what people think of putting some aftermarket wheels on seasonally for a dually. I've done a little searching and it doesn't sound like people think this is a good idea. I just figured for winter and for off-road type use. I do plan to keep the dually configuration or setup for the majority of the time, because it looks sweet. I'm at a point where I have to buy some new tires. The one's I have are fine, Big O "Big Foot Dual-Groove AT's", but they're not much in snow. They don't clean well at all. So I thought either I would get 4 to replace the back ones and then put the AT's back on in the spring/summer/fall, or get six and do the same thing, or get some aftermarket wheels and just run four tires. If I retain the dually setup full-time, i'm looking at getting Fireston Destination MT's, Goodyear Workhorse Extra Grips, or Goodyear MTR's, all in 235/85/16, unless anyone has any other ideas.

No traction starting out in snow. I can literally put it in gear, get out of the truck, walk around the truck, and watch the tires spin while idling. Sounds like i've got a weight problem for the most part. It walks right through anything idling in 4Lo, 4Hi will take a little more time to get going, but 2Hi sucks in snow when you're starting out.

It does look pretty cool with four tires and a lift, but I haven't seen that done without a lift.

Now if I were to run an aftermarket setup, what would be a good size or setup to go with, and would I have to put a lift on? Does anyone have any info or pictures of something like this done? Even thoughts or ideas would be great.

Thanks

P. S. Here's some pics of a nice  looking Ford Dually with a lift.
