I'm thinking about replacing the Interstate batteries in our Aitstream with Optimas. My Interstates are SRM-27's deep cycle, 600 CCA/750 MCA. Not sure if I should use the yellow tops or the blue tops. Have any of you folks switched to the Optimas?

Have not tried them because for half the money I can buy a deep cycle battery from Wally World that lasts 5 years in my RV.

I tried one of the Optama yellow tops and was dissapointed with the initial drop of volts down to 9. 5 or lower. After that drop it seemed to hold at the lower volts for quit a while. Maybe just a bad example. I agree the deep cycle Wally world battrys have worked very well for me at a low cost.

Same same

Blues are marine, yellow are for other applications, same battery inside for corresponding models - for example the d31A and d31m are the same.

I've been running dual redtops for about 6months now. I really like them. I was told you don't get the corrosion from them you get from acid batteries. That was the main reason I put them in.

This has been covered here multiple times - do a search on "Optima" in the RV forums section for more info than you probably want to read... ;)

Or any of us wanna re-type for that matter! :p :D

Ok, I appreciate the replies. I put the Optimas in my Dodge and really like 'em. Think I'll put the blue tops in the Airstream.

I noticed a Kragens add had Orbital Deep Cycle batteries on sale. They go for $160 each! I have never heard of them but for that kind of money they must be something!!
