Does anyone know what the access port on the RIGHT side of the flywheel housing (opposite of the starter) is for?



I have seen companies that have a compound turbo mounted there...



I missed an opportunity for a Cummins Air Compressor on E-bay for $200 that looked like it would mount there (geared input shaft)



Anybody?
 
mystery solved...

That is where you put a Cummins barring tool to turn the engine manually for various service procedures.

I knew that one, as well as the removal of the torque converter bolts, but there are drilled and tapped mounting holes on that side above and below as well. That is why I was wondering what may bolt up there.
