We're planning on getting an '05 3500 6 spd in the spring, but I'm considering ordering now. Steel is getting more expensive, plus shipping costs (fuel) have to be going up, so I can easily see a price increase at any time. Then there's the change from NV to Getrag transmissions in January (no salepersons I've talked to so far are even aware of that... ) If I order now, I should be able to get the NV transmission. On the con side - only a $1000 rebate now - could go up in a few months... Hmmmm.

What would you do?

Now or Later

Well considering the high fuel prices if I did'nt need a new one unless it's for business purpose's I would have to shy away quick. When I bought mine it was because I wanted a diesel truck, I did'nt just have to have it. We were planning on getting a larger 5th wheel trailer, one of the reasons for buying the CTD, but that's no longer in the plans now the way fuel prices are. When I bought mine prices were down around $1. 259 an unleaded regular usually 10 to 15 cents higher. I really like my truck an it gets pretty good mileage for what it is, being a 1 ton auto. I'm just lucky I have only a 20 mile round trip to work an back, or I would probaly be looking for some little ole gas miser to commute in. I am cutting down on running around an pleasure trips also. I just don't like paying the price gouging prices were seeing now. I would bet that the new vehicles sales have seen a some what of decline due to high fuel price, so you will probaly see some better offer incentives to buy new in the future, I don't know. Those guys have to make a living also, but would have a hard time doing it with someone like me. I'm just going to tighten the belt another knotch an make due with what I got. It's ashame it has to be that way.

Good Luck however you choose

Tony
