Thanks to every contributor. Opinions and information available here helped me go for my first diesel, the 5. 9L just before the production window closes. The dealer assures it's still available, deal stopper for me if it isn't, but they won't say just how much longer. I told the salesman I'd never ask him to change whatever is his first number and never reveal it as I shopped 2 other dealers. He put up a number for a '07 equiped just the way I did it on the Ram site for '06's, and the price was just a few hundreds above the discount/employee number of Ram web site. I signed the deal. It's a silver 1 ton quad shortie 4x laramie H. Snowplow's about all it doesn't have. Thanks again to all those sharing the knowledge. Jim

Congrats, Jim!! I have my first CTD for 2. 5 months and I really, really like it. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Congrats, I found this to be an outstanding source for info. I just bought my firsy CTD and have been enjoying it for the past 2 months. I still can not get over the power. My forth doge ram, the new one has more power than all three of other ones. Still have my 2001 1500 QC with the 5. 9 gas engine. What a difference.

I ahve had mine since the beginning of May and the truck is fantastic. All the power in the world and the fuel mileage has been excellent for a truck this size with this much power. The hard part is deciding which exterior mods it needs. Dodge really did well in my book with the 325/610 Cummins. I recommend them to all my buddys looking for a new rig. Scotty
