Just joined TDR yesterday. Went out a ordered a 2003 3500 4X4 4 door dual wheels Laramie pkg. Black w/dark slate interior, HO with 48RE auto, 4:10 anti-slip rear, light group, trailer tow mirrors, heated seats, hood shield, trailer tow group. LIst price 45,865, selling price 38,146 after discounts, savings of 7,719. I thought it was a fair deal so I went for it.

Have to sell my 96 GMC 6. 5 turbo diesel with only 56,000 miles. It will not pull my 10,000 lb 5th wheel very well. Added a lot of aftermarket products, but it is still a dog. It will pull good if it is cool weather with rain to keep it cool. Hope this Cummins does a lot better.

Congrats on the new truck to be! You'll love it. My SO/47RE with 4. 10 pulls our 10,400 lb 5th wheel like a champ. Set the cruise on 70 and rolling hills or headwinds aren't a problem. The HO should make easy pickins of towing your 5th wheel. :D

My dealer in Maryland said the cut off date is Wednesday May 21. It has been extended a week because DC's computer system was down last week. The dealer I ordered from just ordered 40(forty) 3500 4door HO's. Well really 41 with mine.

what Steve M said... . it'll tow like a champ, our 5'er weighs about 11,000, California mountains are the only thing that slowed us down so far, and that was only to 5th gear... congratulations!!!!!

mconstable, I see you have a pull-rite 5th wheel hitch. Did you install yourself? Also, how does it install with no drilling. Does it use existing holes in the frame? I am sure you still have to drill the bed. If you don't mind, how much $ did it cost? Thanks

I didn't install myself... the super rails make it no-drill, it is an awesome hitch... pricey though, don't remember exactly, but with install I think around 1,500. 00. not sure on that though, they do drill 4 2 inch or so holes in the bed for the pins that attach to the rails, I have taken it out a couple of times, comes out in minutes. One person could maneuver it out, but it is heavy! again, congrats!!

Your truck sounds identical to mine except for the transmission. You will love it and it is born to tow. I have the Pull Rite hitch also with the super brackets and am very pleased with it. Welcome to the TDR and good luck with your new truck.

You wont believe how nice these things pull. I only pull about half your weight but I can't even get it above 205 F when pulling mountain passes - Ive never even had the fan come on!
