A number of colors for all manufacturers are hard to come by right now due to (believe it or not!) supplier problems related to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. From what I was told by an individual in the body shop business Saturday night, the supplier that sustained damage produces paint color pigments used throughout the industry.



Take a read HERE - the restriction on Rugged Brown is specifically mentioned.

Chrysler told dealers it was restricting orders on vehicles in 10 colors, including two variations of black and three of red. Ford is slowing production of vehicles in "tuxedo black" and three variations of red.



Chrysler spokeswoman Katie Hepler called it a "precautionary measure" and said the company did not expect any effect on production at this time.



"We anticipate that we currently have an adequate ... supply to meet existing customer orders," Hepler said in a statement.



She said other colors being restricted were Bronze Star, Rugged Brown, Hunter Green, Ivory, and Billet Silver.

there is some delays due to the earthquake in Japan, say what? they can not get some of the paint or pigments for paint, some thing like that I was told my order for my 2011was delayed and that I would have to wait for the 2012s Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (please do not shoot the messenger) some colors are cpmeing thur but my red is not

After a lot of looking around I ordered a 3500 DRW crew with the max tow package, longhorn and all the other stuff, except rear dvd. Now the wait begins. Is there any way to check on it. Seems like there used to be a web cam orsomething, or you could get codes at times that ment something. My dealer says 38 days untill it gets shipped. Then who knows. Looking forward to it. The last Dodge I ordered was a 96... been awhile.

What is Max Tow Package? What's included? Can you order Max Tow with a SRW 3500?

Dealer called and said he had a build date. Said they were going to build all sold trucks first and then everything else for stock.

My dealer said the same thing. I still have no firm build date but any trucks that were pre-sold would be built first over trucks for stock.

Dealer called and said truck was shipped yesterday. I can't wait. he said somebody from Mich called and tried to buy it. I told him sell it and i would split the profit..... LOL... . This ship date was 15 days later than I was told, not to bad... . can't wait to see it... . Oo.

got a friend that has a new generation 07 it had problems at first then they changed the turbo and done some other stuff . It is a short trip vehicle most of the time , it has run like a top ever since . good luck you will get a nice truck. I might even do it next year when mine turns 300k.
