Exhaust 3 or 4?

Next Bomb for Mileage?

Finally did it guys mine was acting very weird on the way home and ended up limping home so I called Stefan at DTT and started talking. Found a local installer and boom on my way. Ordered a TQ,VB,Master kit, Servo, accuator, and billet input shaft. I can't wait. Truck goes in monday when the parts come to have the DTT experience!

Couple questions break in is there one?

Will my truck with the power peel the tires now or chirp em from 1-2 when it shifts? What is concidered abuse with this transmission or can you abuse it? I don't want to go wrecking anything.

I can't remember if its 500 miles or 1000 miles after the change your supposed to change the fluid for "break in", ask Stefan.

Drive it like you stole it. Yes it shoudl chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift.

DTT strongly suggests the ATF and filter be changed at the 1k mi. interval. Personally, I would reduce the specified interval, going with a high quality synthetic ATF at that time.

Yup, I was told to run it for about 1,000 miles then do the oil change/check over etc.

There will always be some "fuzz" come off the clutch pacs and you want to drain and refill to purge that material from the system.

Mine rocks, and that's on a 1st Gen 'ole girl... :D:D

Bob.

I will have mine done in by Phil in Sieverville TN in early Aug.

What's the recommended fluid?, Syn ?

OK on the 500 - 1k first drain. I will tow a 8k 5er back, assume that is ok?, not much weight really.

What should I expect as normal operation of the transmission? Just so I know whats right. Also is there anything you can do to hurt these things that I can avoid doing?

Jamie,

Congrats on the new transmission. I LOVE my DTT. :D

As for normal operation, you will kinda learn to drive it just a TAD bit differently, as your shift points will be a little different, and the convertor is more efficent.

Have fun with it, I do. :)

In Muncie, Bill had a display of his new Billet Intermediate shaft. Nice item. I'll have to get one when I go through the transmission next time. Not to mention the output shaft also. :)

Andrew

Jamie, us 2wd guys are going to be hard pressed to break an output shaft but anything is possible, I would have to say run a stock one.

Jim

Jamie, if you want the truck to chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift, make sure they know that at DTT. You wont get tire chirping shifts with a livestock VB. Hopefully you wrote the firm shifts on your profile sheet. Make sure your getting a firm shift setup, this way you wil be all:D :D every time it shifts. Mine lays a nice patch of rubber on the 1-2 shift if im past 1/2 throttle with the comp on:) .
