Mutual Wheel has very little inventory so I am going to return the four 448's and order two 409's.

OK figured out some of the confusion, I was supposed to get 400-448s. I did and they dont fit. Called Crentramtaic they said, look on the box, the box had Hummer 370-800. So the woman on the phone said there was a mix up. I am sending them back. However someone just called and said the 370-800s and the 400-448's are the same ring. So no mixup( but were supposed to fit) Sending them back and ordered a pair of 400-409s , however they might be too large of a dia to fit in the Ricksons.

I want to do the same and return 308. Did you get your 408. Would love to hear if they clear front brakes

I think you meant 409's I believe they have large enough overall dia to clear the brakes , however they are so big that the ring will not clear the inside on my 19.5" forged Ricksons. It would be real close and very hard to measure as the curve inside the wheel and the curve of the ring might just match up OK.According to the article they fit a inside a 20" wheel , and theoretically mine are only a 1/4" off .

There was so much confusion between the 3 or 4 people I talked to that I am not sure that they are sending a pair of the 409s when they receive the 448's I sent back. So I have been waiting. I will call next week to find out.I am about ready to give up and just use the 318s I have.

IME in my limited dealings with Centramatic is that they make a very well designed and well made product!!!

That said, I have found that their CS always seems confused as to what balancer fits what trucks or what wheel.

I do realize that is not ALL their fault as there are so many different combinations possible, but it seems to me that they could do a MUCH better job of knowing the fitment of their products !!!

Just sayin'

Pretty sure 409 will work diameter wise for me. I have the spacer but it would be nice to not need it. The 16 oz in there should do the trick

It will be interesting to see if your cast wheels have as much meat as my forged ones , if they have less in the inside web area, you might be OK. I don't think you will need a spacer between the hub and ring.

Ok, so I have a set of 408s, flat ones, coming out and will see if they fit and how they work. 16in diameter, 16oz of wt vs about 12in and 6 oz. Will see if they clear up front with and without the spacer provided with my 318. Stay tuned. Write up coming

I have a pair of 409s coming

Yes the flat ones. I fear i will need to use the spacer up front given no offset like the 300 series and the real fit would be to make the larger 400 series with the same small offset.

The 409s will not work on my forged aluminum Ricksons without a 1/2" or more spacer. Sending them back, and will just reinstall the 318s .

I actually thought of pressing a convexity in the bolt circle area , But they are not built super strong and I am afraid a spot welt would give it up, or the pressing would not perfectly centered. Or I would create a rub on the caliper. I give up.

installed the 318s that I had, the ricksons and toyos felt great up to 70mph, so all of that for nothing

got back from a camping trip of over 2000 miles, tires, wheels, balancers worked great. Toyos are kind of loud with the window open.
