'Bout time!

'Bout time, Eric :D (I've always watched your posts since your truck is the same as mine 'cept for bombs).

I will be REAL interested to see how these work for you. I'm about to do the same - maybe. I have many questions.

Mine has the Bully Dog 280/680 plate, which is the same rating as the TST #11 (don't know if its the same performance), an Amsoil airfilter and now a 4" turbo-to-tail exhaust. Injectors or possibly Pier's turbo is the next logical step. The big question in my mind is - which injectors?

Keep us posted.

I also got a deal on a BD 330 HP plate. I'm undecided what I should put in first, the injectors, or the cam plate. Cluch will not handle both.

Piers tells me the injectors should be good for 40-45 HP across the band. He also told me that if I slide the plate back about . 030, it should be about 300 HP(with stock injectors), and the stock cluch SHOULD handle it.

I'd like to do the plate first, but I'm a little reluctant to break the seal until 100K miles.

Decisions decisions... .

I'd eventually like to go the route John_P (and others I'm sure) went. Cam plate, injectors, gov. spring kit, afc spring, and time it up. It was good for 380 HP in his truck. Stock turbo was OK with this suprisingly!

Well, back to work. :(

Eric

PS sorry moderators. I tried to delete this post and re post on the 12 valve forum, but it wouldnt let me.

Eric,

Well, I couldn't resist the price either - talked to Piers a few days ago and ordered a set of the 370's. Plan on putting them in over Labor Day weekend.

Did you chat with him on these, and did he talk to you about the AFC spring? I have the medium spring I put in when I put the plate in. But Piers recommended going back to the stiffer stock spring for better low-end response.

When do you plan to do your install?

Thanks,

Jay

Eric:

Congratulations on finally purchasing your

370's!!! You are going to be surprised

at how much better your truck is going to

perform. As I told you before, I could

not believe what a difference it made on

my truck last year! It is still running

good too!

I am headed to the Scheid Rally. Dan

Scheid, J. P. and the "crew" at the

Terre Haute shop are going to pull my

P7100 off and make some "adjustments. "

I am getting ready to purchase a 215

P7100 pump from them and have that thing

"built up!"

FYI, about two weeks ago I put my truck

on a "DynoJet" near Jacksonville, N. C.

I don't think the owner really understood

how to test a diesel. He INSISTED on

running my truck on that dyno in THIRD

GEAR!!!! He floored it, took the engine

to a little over 3,000 RPM and held

it there in the 95 degree heat!!! To be

honest, I was a little worried!

Anyway,..... it made 307 H. P. and 804

Torque in THIRD GEAR at only 28lbs. of

boost!!!

I have since called Joe Donnelly as he

has run ALOT of the Dodge CTD's on the

Dynojet and he told me it should have

been run in 4th gear.

Calculating the "rule" of 1 psi of boost

equalling 10 H. P, I believe that if that

owner had run it in 4th gear (overdrive)

the reading would have been slightly

over 400 H. P!

I do intend to go back Eric.

Take care and good luck on the install!

Let me know what you think.

No Jay, I didnt talk to him. Louise offered, but I didnt want to take him away from his work.

I still have the stock spring (along with stock everything else) so it sounds like I have the right one!:D

I'm also buying a used BD 330 hp cam plate. I dont know what's going in first. I dont want to do a cluch for a while, so I cant do both. I spoke with Piers a while back and he told me that if I slide the plate back . 030, it should make about 300 HP (with stock injectors) and it should be OK with the stock cluch.

Still undecided about what'll be first.
